In the first solo & duet iterations of THIN SKIN, we explored vulnerability through a personal unveiling of our softest selves. In this community workshop-performance project, we are expanding the narrative from personal to collective, looking at the layers we use to divide, define, and protect ourselves.
What do we allow to be seen? By revealing ourselves, can we see & feel the other? In this politically charged climate, how can we actively create experiences of empathic resonance?
Through storytelling, movement, voice and interactive installation, this workshop explores embodied, collective listening.
This 4-session workshop is cumulative, each session building on the next, culminating in a final showing where we share our experience with the public in an immersive installation-performance.
Open to all, no art or performance experience necessary. Suitable for anyone interested in connecting with other community members through a creative, collaborative experience.
Facilitated by choreographer SheenRu Yong with scenographer E. Spencer Agoston.
